SUMMARY:Witnessing the Global Media – Towards Emotionally Intelligent Storytelling of the Future
DESCRIPTION:In Global Social Witnessing calls\, we tend to attune to global crises and conflicts that we have learned about in the news. But what happens when we make the people and systems that deliver that news our focus? And what becomes present when we attend to both the media’s capacity for courageous truth-telling and its vulnerability to distortion and lies?  \nJoin us for a unique Global Social Witnessing call where we will make space to witness the global media system – sensing into the growing risks facing journalists\, and the complex interplay between the 24/7 news cycle and our individual and collective nervous systems. \nWhile attuning to the many ways in which parts of the legacy media may remain enmeshed with the trauma architecture of the past\, we will also invite the evolutionary updates that could help nurture more emotionally intelligent forms of storytelling in the future. \nIn this call we will explore: \n\nOur relationship with the pressures facing journalists \nHow fragmentation in the media impacts the collective body\nWhat role a trauma-restoring media culture could play in collective healing\n\nWe trust that witnessing the media is the subtlest form of intervention we can make to encourage a healing-centred turn in the media industry.
