DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a conversation about the film ‘Where Olive Trees Weep’ with Sami Awad\, a visionary peace activist and co-director of Nonviolence International. Sami is devoted to a “lasting and just peace” in the Holy Land\, the area between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. He is an advocate for nonviolent resistance and an inspirational leader working towards a shared future for Palestinians and Israelis. Sami will be joined by Ibrahim Ashour from Ghaza\, Project Manager of the Palestine Trauma Relief Project. \nIn preparation\, you are warmly invited (but not required) to watch the film\, which gives background to the current crisis in Israel/Palestine and shows the lives of people from the occupied West Bank. Trump supporters are delighted with the outcome while many who opposed his election are experiencing uncertainty and fear.  After one of the most polarized elections in the country’s history\, the Trump team has begun its plans for his Presidency\, and opponents are mobilizing to resist many of the steps he has said he intends to take. \nAmong the opposition’s concerns are concerns how the new administration will respond to multiple national and global challenges including the Climate Crisis\, the subject of the Pocket Project’s upcoming Climate Consciousness Summit.  We will sit together\, witness the range of our felt experiences in response to these events\, including and honoring the places where it is challenging for us to stay related to ourselves and others.

DESCRIPTION:The war in Ukraine began in February 2022. Since then the existential threat to life in Ukraine has intensified. In the midst of war\, how can life continue to be celebrated\, how can resilience be cultivated\, how can communities provide a structure of support? \nIn this call\, we heard from Therapists\, Resilience Circle Facilitators and Trauma-Informed Leadership Alumni of the Ukraine Trauma Relief Project about their experiences\, and we allowed our hearts and compassion to become nourishment for our Ukrainian community. \nThis event was hosted by: \nDaria Yemets\, Ukraine Trauma Relief Project Manager\, is 25 years old\, lives in Kyiv\, Ukraine and is a psychologist\, breath work and mindfulness instructor and researcher of collective post-traumatic growth and intergenerational resilience in Ukraine. \nOksana Ruda\, Ukraine Trauma Relief Strategic Advisor\, is a PhD\, psychologist and author with a high level of expertise in psychology\, education and social change.

DESCRIPTION:Hand-in-hand with the Pocket Project Trauma Relief Project  \nNow in its 20th year\, the Joint Memorial Ceremony organised by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle – Families Forum is a beacon of hope in the darkness. Through testimonies from bereaved Israeli and Palestinian families\, musical performances\, and messages of peace from human rights leaders\, we explore how\, even in the face of unimaginable loss\, we can still choose humanity over hatred and hope over despair. The Joint Memorial Ceremony is the largest Israeli-Palestinian peace event in history. This year’s ceremony will be livestreamed on April 29\, 2025. \nJoin us at the Pocket Project in solidarity to bear witness and refuse to accept that war is our destiny. We will meet at 19:15 CET/ 1:15pm EST/10:15am PST to arrive together\, watch the ceremony in community and have some space afterwards to hear voices. SUMMARY:The Singular Voice - Writing into Places that Struggle to Speak
DESCRIPTION:This community call will focus on embracing the world through our voices\, unpacking the fine details of the creative writing process as a meditation\, as an offering to our sacred world. \nWhat happens in the midst of mass tragedy in the moments when the bombs strike and life breaks open? These unspeakable horrors are both unbearable and often hidden from a witnessing eye. Is it possible that even through the suffering and death\, we can give voice to the words calling forth from these moments? How does the “I” sense\, attune to\, and communicate with – and within – these situations? In this conversation we will explore the possibility that consciousness\, intimacy\, and a field of awareness can be accessed through the power of the word. DESCRIPTION:The group call aims to create a safe and supportive space to share experiences and support being gaslighted or feeling that your pain is overlooked/gaslighted in work and life environments. \nYou find yourself in a strange reality at work – feeling emotionally and physically exhausted\, demotivated\, and sleepless\, but unable to share what is present for you during a team meeting check-in or a side conversation with a colleague. Our inner world is in turmoil\, while we grapple with nightmares and the weight of what we have seen\, yet we navigate institutions and communities that seem oblivious to the reality we live in. These institutions\, to which we have given our time and energy\, continue with “business as usual\,” while two million people trapped in a cage are being mass murdered with either the complicity or active participation of their governments. And you are asked to play pretend as well and go with “business as usual.” \nHow are we managing this immense challenge? How do we confront the hypocrisy of this moment? Is it possible to maintain authentic connections when our deepest emotions and our fundamental sense of reality are neither acknowledged nor welcomed? How do we deal with the hurt that we carry and the sense of betrayal by friends\, colleagues\, and institutions? \nWe do not offer easy solutions or definitive answers. Instead\, we offer a temporary digital space where we can be seen and heard by each other and recognize the profound pain we are experiencing. We provide a space for sharing our collective experiences and the lessons we have learned so far. \nWho is Invited: This session is specifically for Palestinians in the diaspora who are navigating this complex reality\, whether within their workplaces\, institutions\, or informal social structures. In times of turbulence\, it is natural for feelings of fear and stress to arise. \nThis Global Social Witnessing call invites us to turn toward these experiences—not in retreat\, but with courageous presence\, inner resourcefulness\, and a spirit of collective care. Together\, we will explore how moments of instability can become opportunities for strengthening resilience\, reconnecting to our innate agency\, and stepping forward with thoughtful action. \nRather than judging or dividing\, we gather to witness what is unfolding within and around us—and to activate the compassionate and unique leadership that lives within every one of us. \n  \nDuring this session\, we will:\n🌿 Create a space where experiences of fear and stress can be witnessed\, grounded\, and metabolized in community\n 🌿 Provide collective resourcing and support to deepen individual and shared resilience\n 🌿 Reconnect to a sense of personal and collective agency—exploring how compassionate presence can inspire thoughtful\, courageous engagement with the world \nOur focus will be:\n\nHow can we strengthen our capacity to stay related and grounded amid uncertainty and complexity?\n\nHow can collective witnessing transform stress into resilience\, and withdrawal into awake\, empowered presence?\n\nHow can compassion\, rooted in the uniqueness of our presence\, guide us to take responsive and courageous action in service of the whole?\n\n
