SUMMARY:Cultures of Welcome for Social Resilience
DESCRIPTION:In-Person Interactive Workshop on May 9\, 2026 in Berlin (bUm): Paul-Lincke-Ufer 21\, 10999 Berlin \nHow do we create workforce integration that strengthens society — not through pressure and adaptation alone\, but through resilient systems capable of welcome? \nAt a time when migration continues to shape our societies\, this practice-based gathering in Berlin is an exploration into what it means to build cultures of resilience within our communities and beyond. It honours the wisdom already alive in our communities while opening space for dialogue\, learning\, and embodied practice. Together with diverse actors across sectors\, we will explore integration as a mutual\, systemic\, and relational process. \nListening to voices from German institutions and from people with lived migration experience\, we explore how sustainable workforce integration depends not only on systems\, but on our capacity to stay present and meet complexity with openness. We are also delighted to mark this gathering with the launch of the Cultures of Welcome initiative\, a trauma-informed leadership & resilience facilitation training for practitioners\, leaders\, and community stewards dedicated to building societal resilience from the inside out. \nWhat to expect: \n\nListening to the Field: Lived experiences from migrants and refugees in Germany\, research insights on collective trauma and integration and perspectives from workforce integration initiatives.\n\nMaking the Invisible Visible: Exchange and share tools for resilience building\, collective sensemaking through narrative-based formats.\n\nSocial Presencing Circles: A reflective space to surface what becomes visible when we truly listen across differences — and across sectors.\nFrom Insight to Commitment: What capacity is most missing? What small prototype could we test in the next 6 months? An introduction to the two-part learning journey ahead.\nCatering: Refreshments from inclusive catering services and networking\n\nHow to Participate: \nPlease sign up using the form below to save your spot. After registering\, you will receive an email providing more details about the program. \nAbout the Pocket Project: \nThis event is hosted by the Pocket Project\, a global initiative supporting collective trauma integration and resilience through practice-based frameworks such as the Resilience Program and Global Social Witnessing\, working in partnership with communities in contexts of inequality\, conflict\, and historic trauma.
