SUMMARY:Meeting the Current Political Divide in the U.S. - Witnessing our Responses and Resources
DESCRIPTION:The first year of the Trump administration has dismantled existing structures and long-held political agreements.  The changes\, welcomed by supporters and outraging to others\, are impacting the lives of U.S. residents and people around the world. \nThis Global Social Witnessing will not be a space for political debate\, rather an opportunity to witness diverse experiences\, challenges and impacts along with the range of resources that we employ as we meet the political division and disruption in many of our lives. \nTogether we will practice our ability to remain present as we listen to the possible range of feelings and experiences shared.  We will hold space for the diversity of voices in the community gathered\, maintaining awareness of our embodied experience\, presencing our resources\, our challenges\, and our ability to respond. \nWe will meet and welcome the current limits of our capacity to turn toward this moment with our bodies\, our breath\, and openness to listen\, and we will be as aware as possible of our felt responses to whatever experiences are shared in the room. \nIn this call\, we will explore: \n\nResources that support our ability to stay conscious of our own experience and the experience  of others \nGrounding – as a way to stay present amidst divergence and pain\nNavigating turbulence with compassionate presence – exploring our capacity to stay with difference\, together\n\nWe trust in the quiet power of witnessing life as it is\, as the starting point for moving forward. \n

Beginning with an introduction to practices that open the heart and sharpen awareness\, we’ll then move into a shared experiential space where words turn into gateways to the ineffable. \nThrough guided exercises\, silence\, and dialogue\, we will uncover how timeless wisdom speaks through us and into our contemporary lives.
