Journeying with Breast Cancer

A Path of Personal and Collective Learning and Growth

Online | English

What will we be exploring in this Lab?

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer worldwide (World Health Organization). What are the personal and collective aspects of trauma for women diagnosed with breast cancer? Shock, fear of dying, anxiety of a recurrence, grief for loss of fertility, disfigurement, shame, stigma. Cultural norms of feminine beauty damage women’s self-esteem and body image. Over giving as caretakers, lack of self-care, isolation, all play a role in dis-ease. The aim in our Lab is to create new architectures of emotional, energetic, ancestral and collective support for women dealing with breast cancer.

Who is invited to participate?

Our Lab is dedicated to women dealing with the challenging diagnosis of breast cancer, regardless of the phase of the journey (recently diagnosed, going through treatment, currently cancer-free). We wish to build a global community of women in a caring and coherent container, as we explore the deeply personal and collective aspects of journeying with breast cancer. Familiarity with the work of Thomas Hübl is preferred and/or a strong mediation/contemplative practice. This Lab is not a substitute for medical treatment or therapeutic support, it is not a form of healing for the illness itself.

More about the journey of the Lab

Our Lab will explore the collective and individual factors that contribute to trauma and growth in our personal breast cancer journey. We will host our physical, emotional, mental and spiritual experience of breast cancer, develop greater capacities to include and witness our own and each other’s embodied experience; grow our sense of interdependence as a community to reduce isolation and separateness and increase support; connect with the resources in our personal, social, ancestral and natural eco-systems and align with the innate health in the self-healing mechanism of life.
