Bringing Trauma Relief
to the World
An Exploration of Peer-to-Peer Coaching Techniques with Victor Lyons
Across the globe, hundreds of millions live with unhealed trauma. In Ukraine alone, over 10 million people are estimated to have PTSD. There will NEVER be enough mental health professionals (who have spent years getting training) to address this – it’s a mathematical impossibility. This workshop explores how we can bring accessible, peer-to-peer coaching techniques for trauma relief to communities who need it most—especially in low-resource settings.

“It’s mathematically impossible for traditional mental health services to meet global demand. That’s why training people in peer coaching is essential — so everyone, everywhere, can access the tools for healing and better mental health. ” — Victor Lyons

In this Workshop
We’ll focus on simple yet powerful practices that can be taught and shared widely, even in grassroots environments and among those with limited formal training or literacy.
You will learn to support others—not as therapists, but as compassionate peers—using a model that honors client-centeredness, presence, and respectful care.
What You’ll Receive
✅ 3 live, practical training sessions
✅ Printable handouts for each module
✅ Roleplay-based learning
Let’s work together to bring relief, healing, and connection—one peer at a time.

“An effect size of 1.5 is considered very high in mental health. Our trauma techniques consistently score over 4. We want to train people everywhere to achieve these kinds of results — quickly, reliably, and affordably.”
— Victor Lyons

Can you really learn a whole counseling technique in a day? Yes! It was exactly like that. The best part is, it was mostly practical and less theory. I got to experience first hand how effective the technique is by dealing with my own traumas. I gained so much confidence in being able to implement the techniques that we were taught. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
– Ms. C.M, Zimbabwe, Training Participant

Working with Victor has been truly transformative. It has deepened my understanding and empowered me with tools to address trauma effectively, both for myself and others. The techniques I have been taught can be utilised on a diverse number of people and in different places. His compassionate guidance and clear teaching style made complex concepts easy to grasp and apply.
– Nomsa T, South Africa, Training Participant

I came with no expectations but with an awareness that self-understanding, wisdom and self-care were deeply needed. The journey through trauma, self-discovery and self-knowledge has been transformative not only for the ‘shutter-up’, lights on moments, but for the soulful, meditative calm it has brought. I could not recommend more highly to those in acute need. Life changing.
– Mr. F.C., United Kingdom, Client

I met Victor at a very turbulent time of my life. When I think back to how I was when I met him, to now, it’s extraordinary the difference I feel. In particular, I took a lot from our conversations about mental health and personality disorders. Our meetings were a space to explore in much detail my experiences and through his unique techniques, process the complex feelings around them.
– Ms. T.W., Mexico, Client

Rola, almost every word you spoke rang as a clear resonance in my system…soft, spacious, slow, and kind. Your sharing, your cadence was soothing and offered space for digestion.
– Attendee, The Art of Speaking Your Truth Workshop

Working with Rola has been an incredibly transformative experience. She helped me confront and dismantle deep-rooted beliefs about myself. I started with ‘I can’t do this,’ and now I leave with ‘I guess that’s possible.

Victor Lyons
Victor Lyons is a trauma recovery specialist with deep expertise in PTSD, particularly among victims of crime, war, terrorism and gender-based violence. He established pioneering PTSD treatment units in the UK and USA, training hundreds of therapists and counsellors, and transforming thousands of lives. In 2002, he moved to rural India to address health education—only to find that many women couldn’t read, making traditional outreach ineffective. In response, he and his team spent two years developing the Tara Akshar literacy program which managed to transform the lives of 238.000 women, men and children. He went on to create ReadingWise English for UK children with learning difficulties which has helped hundreds of thousands of schoolchildren to read fluently. Victor’s work continues to bridge the gap between trauma recovery and educational empowerment across cultures and continents. Read more about his work here >>
