At a time when migration continues to shape our German society, we meet to explore what it means to build cultures of welcome.

How do we create workforce integration that strengthens society – not through pressure and adaptation, but through resilient systems capable of welcoming diversity?

Together with representatives from German institutions and those with lived migration experience, we will explore integration as a mutual, systemic, and relational process. We aim to gather the wisdom we bring and open space for dialogue, learning, and embodied practice.

We explore how sustainable workforce integration depends not only on systems, but on our capacity to stay present and meet complexity with openness. Cultures of Welcome depend on inner and outer resilience!

What to expect:

1. Listening to the Field: Lived experiences from migrants and refugees in Germany, research insights on collective trauma and integration and perspectives from workforce integration initiatives.
2. Making the Invisible Visible: Exchange and share tools for resilience building, collective sensemaking through narrative-based formats.
3. From Insight to Commitment: What capacity is most missing? What small prototype could we test in the next 6 months? An introduction to the two-part learning journey ahead.
4. Catering: Refreshments from inclusive catering services and networking

Kosha Joubert is the CEO of Pocket Project. She is a South-African born facilitator working internationally in collective trauma, resilience, and community healing, with long-term leadership experience in regenerative and community-based movements. Kosha is deeply committed to culturally grounded, collective approaches.

Kazuma Matoba was born in Kobe, studied in Tokyo, and received his PhD in Duisburg/Germany. Prof. Dr. Kazuma Matoba teaches and researches in communication science at Witten/Herdecke University in Germany. Over twenty years, he has facilitated many intercultural, interethnic and interreligious dialogues.  He is the managing director of the Graduate Program of The Academy of Inner Science (AIS), where he supports Thomas Hübl in establishing the dialogue between inner and outer science.

Adrian Wagner works at the intersection of applied complexity and emotional attunement, holding space for both individual and collective blind spots with care and discernment. He is a researcher with The Pocket Project and collaborates with The Cynefin Company (formerly Cognitive Edge) as a consultant.

Over the past 15 years, he has worked as a teacher, researcher, coach, and transformational facilitator with institutions including the European School of Governance, the German Foreign Ministry, the European Commission, and the University of Witten/Herdecke. He co-published the research report Trauma and Democracy, exploring approaches to integrating collective trauma.

His work focuses on developing new pathways for collective growth and resilience by integrating complexity, compassion, and transformative leadership.
