What will we be exploring in this Lab?
European immigrants to North America descended from indigenous ancestors. What happened to the diverse peoples of pre-Christian Europe, and their ancient ways of knowing and being? From the Roman Empire's slaughter and enslavement of indigenous peoples through the Christian persecution of Pagans and beyond, centuries of trauma scar people of European descent in invisible ways. The pain of these wounds positioned Europeans to replicate the same brutality in colonizing the New World. When we reintegrate our ancient European ancestors, we can face present and future from a more resourced place.
Who is invited to participate?
This Lab is for people of European descent living in North America, who feel drawn to explore with like-minded others some of the forgotten history of our indigenous European ancestors; who want to uncover, feel, and perhaps help heal some of what our ancestors could not heal in their own times. If you're eager to expand your capacity to feel into ancestral and collective levels, you're committed to actively listening and sharing in the group process, and you're open to sensing/sharing your embodied experience as we explore—come join us!
More about the journey of the Lab
Centuries of trauma have extinguished our felt connection to our oldest European ancestors and land, to the degree that we believe indigeneity is a mystery possessed by other cultures, not our own. How does this forgetting live in our bodies today—and what lies beneath it? We'll use resource material along with shared reflections, guided meditations, and small group breakouts to investigate how we carry these deeply encoded transmissions from the past. We'll allow for innovation along the way, as we explore how to create from this root new ways of being in the current world.
When will we be meeting?
We'll meet on Tuesdays, 9 am-11 am Pacific Time/noon-2 pm Eastern for a total of 14 two-hour sessions over the year. Sessions are held every other week for seven weeks, followed by a four-week break, with a longer break in the summer.
